IF thumbnails

For this weeks assignment we were to create thumbnails for a poster of our choice based on a word from Illustration Friday. For this week, the word chosen was "Family" and for each of my thumbnails I tried to create different concepts relating to family. The top left was about friends as many of us have friends who we consider to be a part of our family. The inspiration for this thumbnail was taken from the "10 Things I hate about you" movie poster with its bold title and the way the figures are positioned with each other.  The top right I tried going a different route by making it more dramatic and adding a dark, drastic shadow to the main face just as the jaws poster I took inspiration from had intense shadowing.  The bottom right I tried adding a unique element with some sideways type that went the length of the poster and a compilation of two sisters growing up so the viewer could see different scenes of the sisters in one image. Finally, The bottom left I made about a couple starting a family of their own. This thumbnail I put some more elements of a family (ie. wedding ring, house) in the film reel in the background to add some depth and something that would draw the viewers eye closer to the poster.
